First CycloCross - Allestree Park

Yes! 2nd place! I suffered for it though...

On the 1st of October 2011 I did my first cyclocross at Allestree Park after watching my brother two weeks before and wanting a go myself. At first, the grass was very wet, which was a problem because it meant that I would have to go slower to prevent myself from slipping. Fortunately, by the time it was my race it had dried up, meaning I could go flat out. And that I did. Now, I'm certainly not the fastest and strongest cyclist of my age and I was sure that most of people in my race were better than me, but guess what? I came second! I got it presented to me and stood at the top of the podium. It was, now doubt, that hardest thing I have done, and as I climbed of the bike, red faced and sweaty, I felt very,very tired.
